I have to apologize for my lack of update. This summer has been a whirlwind of traveling for both Andy and me. Rest assured that all is well with the Shreveport Horner clan. We have settled into the house, and we are very very happy here. There have been some fairly typical old house issues that we have had to deal with. The plumbing has flooded twice (which meant that the pregnant lady couldn't use the bathroom), the electrical had to be changed from fuses to breakers (which resulted in a couple of days without AC), and then, there was the day that a 2,000 pound limb fell on the house... Yeah that was not a good day. Even with all of that, this move really has been an excellent decision. We love having the space and the privacy, although I do miss the free music lessons. The puppies love the yard. I throw peanuts out in the yard for the squirrels and Riley LOVES to chase them off. In fact, Riley spends his days on a dog bed in front of the french doors watching for those furry infiltrators and Rosie is just happy to be in or near a lap.
In pregnancy related news, Chris and I have been doing really well. In fact, he might be a little too happy in the mama oven. At our 28 week appointment the doctor told us that Chris was measuring just over two weeks ahead. Since then he has consistently measured in the 90th percentile. My doctors were briefly concerned about the possibility of gestational diabetes, but apparently I just grow big babies. As of last week, the plan is to induce labor between 38 and 39 weeks (I am currently 34 & 1/2 weeks), which puts his arrival somewhere between October 6th and October 13th. I am so very excited to meet this little man.
My nearest and dearest threw me an amazing baby shower at the end of July. I had so much fun and Chris and I were well and truly showered with so many incredibly generous gifts. Chris is going to be the world's best dressed baby and he has every type of seat/bouncer/jumper/stroller than we could possibly need even if we were having 10 of him. Andy and I are lucky to have so many people in our lives that are happy and excited to be a part of the adventure that we are about to being. Here are a few pictures from my shower.
Over Labor Day weekend, my parents came to Shreveport and we all worked very very hard to get the nursery ready. Andy and I had painted the walls already, but nothing else had been done. Now, everything is finished and in my biased opinion, I have the most adorable nursery in the entire world. However, I will let you judge for yourself. Here are some pictures.
So, I think that is most of what you have missed since my last post. If you have questions or want any other type of update, let me know.
Such a lovely room - love the reclaimed furniture, Meg - great picks! It all looks so serene. Hope that helps at 2am, 3am, 4am, etc, etc, etc, :D you three are going to be great! Will Andy take daddy leave for a bit?
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely in LOVE with your nursery. Lucky Christopher.
